New Dresser

I found this dresser off of craigslist back in August and finally refinished it this past week. I am tired of our tall dresser and decided to get a short long one. This dresser is 6' long! LOVE IT!

This is the before.

After taking the drawers out, it already looks better!

Then I started refacing the drawers.

Changed the color to 'popular gray' (our favorite right now since our WHOLE house is this color)

Then I added the famous squares that I LOVE and the knobs.... and the final product.

Now to get it to our bedroom..... 

Side yard -- CHECK!

When we moved in, our "wing" fence was far up and didn't match with our neighbors fence. We decided on the south side, to move it back to meet up with the neighbors. I know I have the initial picture somewhere, but I just cannot seem to find it. So this is after we moved the fence back to match up.

Then Scottie dug out the original post.

And afterwards, we used some extra rock from the backyard to replace the bark.

Over the past months we have very-very-very gradually been making our backyard home. It is time to show our progress...

Fencework

Today was FINALLY day 2 of putting up our fence. After waiting nearly 3 weeks for warmth, today was the day. It was Scottie and I, as well as our two neighbors and one father who was the supervisor. We started around 9am and finished shortly before 4pm. This included renting an auger to dig all 15 holes (this includes our neighbors other side). Luckily it was a warm day and I now have my first tan of the summer. Here is the final product.

Then my Padre came over and we added one more post. But my Padre didn't use an auger but just an old school post digger. That's my Padre!!!

After the post, we then moved the fence back on the north side of our house and put up a gate. I am SO glad we decided to add a gate, especially because our faucet is on that side. I was not looking forward to dragging that all around the other side of the house. Now we just need to finish taking out the other original post and fill it in with some dirt.

New {Recycled} Plants

I received some new {recycled} plants from a co-worker today. Lucky for me she was planting a new tree and needed some room. So today after work, in my skirt and sandals, I went straight to her house and dug out these two HUGE plants. Then brought them right home and planted them. I LOVE THEM!!!

Happy Mother's Day

Happy Mother's Day. Today was a great day. My mom and sister came over for an early morning breakfast, pancakes and bacon.... yummy!!! My brother and his kids came over shortly after.  It was a very laid back morning complete with me taking pictures. 

In the afternoon we all headed over to have Mother's Day with our other Mom.  We stayed for dinner and enjoyed a nice sunny day.  To end the night we were able to have a video chat with Scottie's parents. We saw all 3 Mom's open their gifts! It was a great Mother's Day! 

Paper Wreath

The secret paper wreath... I saw this online thanks to another blog I read daily and I had to make one for our Mom's. Each one turned out so differently, I loved them. Now I need to make another one for us.
